Q: What are the timings of the school?
    Mon to Fri:   8:30 am to 03:00 pm
    Sat:               8:30 am to 12:45 pm
The school will be closed on all second Saturdays.

Q: Does the school have parent-teacher conferences?  And if so, when?

Yes.  To enhance parent-teacher involvement in the betterment of the kids future, parent-teacher conferences are highly recommended.  These can be setup, either by phone or email, in advance with the vice-principal.  Conferences are held mostly on the last Saturday of each month from 10:00AM -12:00Noon

Q: Is there a dress code at school?  And if so, what?
Uniform/Dress Code for girls on Monday/First Working Day of the Week:
White Frock, Blue Striped Tie, White Canvas Shoes, White Socks & White Ribbons.
Girls (Grades VI-X) will wear a blue waist coat.

Uniform/Dress Code for Boys on Monday/First Working Day of the Week:
White Shirt, White Short/Trouser, White Canvas Shoe, White Socks, Blue Striped Tie& Black Belt.
Uniform/Dress Code For Girls:  Tuesday-Saturday.

Q: Is the school recognized by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh?
Sunrise High was established in 1958 and is one of the oldest schools in Hyderabad.  It is recognized by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The medium of instruction at Sunrise High is English.  Apart from imparting quality education upto Grade X, Sunrise also offers extra-curricular activities and computer education to enhance the student's experience. 

Q: What languages are offered at the school?
Starting from Grade 1, a student has to choose from either Hindi/Telugu/Urdu as first language.  Telugu is offered as second language.  Other subjects that are offered include English, Mathematics, Sciences and Social Studies.

Q: What is the admission policy?
Admissions are offered in Grades I - IV based on availability and a selection process.  A date of birth certificate is required as part of the admission process. 

Q: When is the fees due?
Fees is due on the first of every month.  And should be paid before the 10th of every month.
Fees will not be accepted after 10th.  A fine of Rs. 25 will be charged thereafter.  Dues for the month of April and May should be paid before the commencement of the annual examination.

Q: What is the attendance policy?
We take punctuality seriously. The students should be in the school premises prior to the morning bell at 8:30AM.  The morning assembly begins at 8:30AM and attendance is compulsory. No child will be allowed after 8:40AM.  Children who are late may not be allowed inside.  The school bears no responsibility whatsoever towards late comers.  Regular attendance may contribute positively towards overall grade of student.

Q: How is discipline maintained?
We also take discipline seriously. The children are expected to be obedient and courteous in speech and manners and dutiful to their teachers and fellow students.  Any indiscipline will be reported to the class teacher or the vice-principal.  And necessary action will be initiated.  Indiscipline may negatively affect overall grade of a student.

Q: How are tests and exams conducted?
It is compulsory for all students to write all the unit tests and exams.  The average scores obtained in each subject of the unit tests and all the examinations (typically 3) will be used to compute the final grade.  Unit test notebooks and answer papers of all the exams are returned to students after being scored by the teachers. These should be duly signed by the parents to confirm receipt.
    
Parents should pay close attention to the progress reports that are issued regularly after each unit test and examination.  These should be duly signed as well to confirm receipt.  Students may be sent back home for failure in getting the report promptly.  It is highly recommended that the parents address any concerns based on the student's progress using the parent-teacher conference. 

Q: Is there any parent involvement in the activities of the students?
We emphasize on parents being greatly involved in the education of their children.  Students are regularly given homework which is also reflected in their school diaries.  These diaries should be checked and signed daily by the parents.  The diary may be used to communicate with the class teacher as well. 

Q: How do I withdraw my child's enrollment from school?

Either the school or the parent can intiate the withdrawal. If any student is to be withdrawn from school, a notification in writing is to be provided atleast a month in advance.  A Transfer Certificate will not be issued until all the dues are settled.  A student can be asked to leave the school on the ground of
