Jan 2013 Academic Update

10 January 2013
Dear Parents,
Heartfelt greetings for the New Year 2013. We wish for your health, prosperity and long life.

The academic year 2012-13 is soon drawing to a close. The last year witnessed a lot of curricular and extra curricular activities for your children that have exposed them to wider areas of learning.  We wish to thank all Parents who wholeheartedly cooperated to make every event a success – from the SSC felicitation function in June; Science exhibition in August to the Sports Day in December.

  • We held competitions in Essay Writing, Elocution, Debates, Memory, Extempore, Singing, Dancing, Arts & Craft
  • Drawing, Painting, Recitation, Story telling, Mehendi designing, Fabric Painting, Urdu Poetry etc.  This was an opportunity for every child to participate and develop confidence to pursue their skills with interest
  • Audio –Visual aided learning, Value education, Reading, Singing were made part of the weekly schedule
  • New computers were installed to encourage technology based education
  • We have introduced the SMS service and will use it whenever necessary
  • The website sunrisehigh.org is always updated for your convenience. Any activity/ tests/exams in school are announced here.
    • Sit at home and get updated
  • We appreciate your presence every Saturday that is an Open Day to enquire about the progress of your child

The concentration is now on academics as the Annual Exams will be held in March for all classes.  Learning becomes easier not by sending the child to tuitions, but if

  1. The child understands what she is learning
  2. Has Good communication in English
  3. Does Regular practice of all subjects
  4. Values education and does things with interest
  5. Is Regular and punctual to school
Your role as a parent is to help the teacher and the child to develop these habits from an early age.  Encourage use of polite language, respect for teachers and try to create an educational atmosphere at home. The child is a good observer and learns quickly.  Please note...
  • Telugu is a state language. It should be learnt with an open mind and with the same interest as the other subjects. It is compulsory that every child gets good marks in the subject so that they can get good grades in the SSC exam
  • Discourage long hours in front of the TV and unnecessary access to internet. This spoils their minds and wastes time
  • Lot of prizes up for grabs at the end of the year
    • Best student, 100% attendance, Good conduct,Tech savvy student, Good English speaking skills
    • Co-operative parents, etc...
  • Class X students can win medals after the SSC exam for highest in every subject. So aim high and strive for excellence
  • We also advise you to pick up your child from the school yourself so that they reach home safely
  • Keep the school updated about any change in phone numbers so that we can get in touch easily
  • Diary should be compulsorily always in the bag and checked for updates everyday
Let us encourage our children to pursue education, be independent, develop a noble nature and make us proud.
We hope and pray that every child lives up to the ideals of Sunrise and turnout to be respectable, broadminded and affluent citizen of the society.
