but life stops for none.
Single handedly she taught us how to rise and shine, never bowing to forces trying to put us down.
The lessons help life go on.
So different from the people of her time, forward in thoughts and empathetic in actions,
we continue to strive on.
She showered love on one and all, did not rest until her last breath,
we too learn to breathe on.
She carried forward a vision with grit, sought help from the divine alone,
tutoring us that the show must go on.

From her early days as an educator to becoming the guiding force behind Sunrise High School, she devoted her life to creating opportunities for generations of learners.
She witnessed 79 summers - some warm and some extremely hot but she never gave up
Her life is a beautiful example of self belief, strength, dedication and patience towards her profession; Selfless love and devotion towards her family; Empathy and compassion for all others she came across
Her life is for all to emulate ; she is no longer amidst us but her memories live on through her family, friends and students

I did not walk in as a teacher, I entered Sunrise High with no experience,
Only courage, questions, and a quiet hope to begin.
She was the first to interview me, The first to listen without doubt,
The first to see a teacher, before I saw one myself.
That moment was not just an interview — It was the start of a journey.
A journey of learning discipline, Of standing strong in a classroom.
Today, I look back and understand how deeply her words shaped me.
She always believed a good teacher is known by her discipline,
by the way she holds her class, and by the knowledge she carries within.
Those words became my ambit In every class I take, In every student I guide,
I carry her standards with pride, and even in her absence, they continue to lead me forward.
She taught me that teaching is not just about lessons,
But about presence, control and respect earned through knowledge.
Though she is no longer with me, I cherish every lesson she gave,
For some people leave this world, But never leave the lives they shaped.
Her absence is felt, But her guidance remains—
Living on in my work, My values, And the teacher I have become.

Some individuals leave behind more than memories—they leave behind a legacy of love, connection, and humanity.
Down the line, I still remember previously when I joined Sunrise, around the time when Mrs. Adeeb Muneer madam had returned to India. We had a small get-together at the school, and Simeen ma’am was introducing me to Adeeb madam.
As soon as Simeen ma’am mentioned my name, Adeeb madam smiled and said,
“Yes, yes… I understood when you told me on the call. I even remember her father, Ghouse Khan.”
I smiled at that moment—deeply touched—because Ghouse Khan is my grandfather. She remembered him because my mother had once been a Sunriser too.
That instant truly hit my heart. It wasn’t just her sharp memory that amazed me, but the way she carried love and affection along with those memories. Her remembrance was warm, personal, and full of respect.
Even today, one simple image stays fresh in my mind—
Adeeb madam, gracefully dressed in a green saree every Friday.
Mrs. Adeeb Muneer madam’s presence was a blessing, her values an inspiration, and her memories a treasure. She may no longer be with us, but her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched and the bonds she nurtured like family.
Some bonds are not just professional; they feel like family, rooted in memories, respect, and enduring love.
She will always be remembered—with gratitude, respect, and love.

انسان کی زندگی کے دو حقیقی پہلو ہوتے ہیں۔
جس میں پہلا زندگی اور دوسرا موت ہے-اور یہ صد فیصد سچ ہے کہ زندگی ایک عارضی اور مختصر سا سفر ہے- جبکہ موت ایک ایسی تلخ حقیقت ہے جس سے کوئی انکار نہیں کر سکتا ہے- جب کوئی ہمارا پیارا عزیز ہم سے جدا ہو جاتا ہے تو اس کی یادیں ، اس کا کردار اور اس کی اچھی صفات ہمیشہ ہمیشہ ہمارے دلوں میں زندہ رہتی ہیں - میں یہاں جس عظیم الشان شخصیت کا ذکر کرنے کی جسارت کر رہی ہوں وہ ہم سب کی ہر دل عزیز مشفق ، ہمدرد اور خلوص سے بھرپور ہستی محترمہ ادیب منیر صاحبہ ہیں - جو سن رائز ہائی سکول کی سابقہ پرنسپل رہ چکی ہیں - وہ آج ہمارے بیچ موجود نہیں ہے- مگر آج بھی ادیبہ میم کی نصیحتیں ، اصول ، نظم و ضبط اسکول کی فضا کو ہمیشہ معطر کیے ہوئے ہیں - اور ان کے ہونے کا احساس ہر وقت ہر لمحہ دلا تے رہتے ہیں -
ادیبہ میم ایک نہایت نیک دل ، خوش اخلاق ، منکر المزاج اور بڑی ہمدرد انسان تھی وہ ہمیشہ دوسروں کی مدد کو اپنا فرض سمجھتے ہوئے ہر ایک کے ساتھ محبت واحترام سے پیش آتی تھی- میم کی زندگی سادگی، اخلاص اور خدمت خلق سے بھرپور تھی- انہوں نے ہمیشہ سچائی کا ساتھ دیا اور اپنی ذات سے بڑھ کر دوسروں کی بھلائی و خیر خواہی کو ترجیح دی - گھر ہو یا پھر معاشرہ ہر جگہ ان کا کردار قابل تقلید اور قابل فخر رہا - ان کی گفتگو میں نرمی اور عمل میں خلوص نمایاں نظر آتا تھا - وہ دوراندیش، وسیع القلب اور وسیع النظر شخصیت کی مالک تھی۔ہر چیز کا جائزہ بغور اور فیصلے پرسکون انداز میں کیا کرتی تھی-
بہر کیف ادیبہ میم کی شخصیت کسی تعریف کی محتاج نہیں ہے - وہ دراصل بے شمار خوبیاں اور نیک صفات کی حامل تھی- میم کی کمی کا خلا کبھی پر نہیں ہو سکتا۔۔ مگر ان کی اچھائیاں ، نیکیاں اور نا قابل فراموش خدمات ہمیشہ انہیں زندہ رکھیں گے۔
آخر میں اللہ تعالی سے دعا ہے - کہ وہ مرحومہ کی مغفرت فرمائے، ان کے درجات کو بلند کرے اور اسکول کے ہر طالب علم کو ان کے لیے صدقہ جاریہ بنا دے اور اس سانحے پرتمام افراد خاندان کو صبر جمیل عطا فرمائے امین۔

A Teacher With Motherly Care by Mrs. Nadiya Farheen
Joining Sunrise High School in 2013 was a turning point in my life. When I first met our beloved Principal, Mrs. Adeeba Muneer Ma'am, there was no lengthy interview or focus on qualifications. Instead, she shared a belief I have never forgotten:
"For me, a B.Ed. degree is not important. What matters is a teacher with motherly care."
Those words reflected the kind of leader she was. She believed that compassion, patience, and genuine care were the true qualities of a great teacher. Her trust gave me confidence and shaped the educator I am today.
Though she is no longer with us, her values continue to guide me in every classroom. May Allah (SWT) grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus and reward her abundantly for the countless lives she touched. Ameen.

بہترین ماں ' کامیاب معلم 'غم خوارساتھی اور عظیم شخصیت ان الفاظ کے ساتھ آپ کی ایک مکمل تصویر بنتی ہے ۔
یہ سچ ہے کہ سن رائز کا بیج تو محترمہ اکبری روف میم نے بویا تھا لیکن اسے اپنے خون پسینے سے سینچ کر گھنا سرسبز و شاداب درخت بنانے والی ادیب میم ہیں۔ یہ راستہ آسان نہیں تھا راہ میں جگہ جگہ مشکلات اور مصیبتوں کے کانٹے بچھے تھے۔ لیکن کبھی وہ گھبرای نہیں اپنے ذمہ داری سے کبھی پیچھے نہیں ہٹیں۔ جب تک ان کی سانسیں چلتی رہیں اپنے آپ کو سن رائز کے لیے قربان کر دیا ۔
آپ جیسا نہ کوئی تھا نہ کوئی ہوگا
آپ کی ہر قربانی کا خلاصہ آپ کے بعد ہوگا
کبھی نہ بھلائی جانے والی شخصیت ' لوگوں کے دل دماغ پر حکومت کرنے والی' سب کی خوشی میں چپکے سے شامل ہونے والی ' لاکھوں طلباء کے مستقبل کو روشن و تابناک بنانے والی ' اپنی خوشیوں کی قربانی دے کر مسکرانے والی ' اپنے ارادے کی پکی ' خیالات میں ان کے پاکیزگی 'طبیعت میں سادگی ' آواز معتبر' الفاظ سلجھے ہوئے ' رفتار تیز 'سونج بلند ' ایک کامیاب اور کامل خاتون جو ہر کس و ناکس کے لیے مشعل راہ بن سکتی ہے۔ آج کے دور میں ایک انسان میں ان تمام خوبیوں کا ہونا مشکل ہی نہیں بلکہ ناممکن ہے۔ آپ ہر کسی کے لیے ایک مثال ہیں۔ آپ کے بنا ادھورے ضرور ہو گئے ہیں لیکن آپ کی دی ہوئی سیکھ ہمیں اس غم میں بھی رکنے تھکنے نہیں دیتی ۔ آپ کا خواب جو پورا ہو چکا ہے اب وہ دوسروں کی آنکھوں میں چمک رہا ہے۔ سن رائز کے ذرہ ذرہ سے آپ کی یادیں جڑی ہیں۔

With unwavering faith and courage, you turned every challenge into hope.
You lovingly raised your three children, stood beside your mother in serving the school she founded, and carried forward a legacy of education, compassion, and service.
You were more than our Principal— a mentor, a guide, and a mother figure to every girl who walked through these gates.
You inspired every student to dream boldly, learn joyfully, lead with confidence, and live with kindness.
Though you are no longer with us, your legacy lives on in every confident student, every devoted teacher, and every dream nurtured at Sunrise.

She wasn't just our principal To us, she was warmth.
She taught us the basics of Urdu with endless patience, never making anyone feel small for not knowing. I still remember the little stars and the words "Very Good" in my notebook. They were small gestures, but they filled me with confidence.
When I met her again years after graduating, she remembered my name just as she always had. That was the kind of heart she had—one that remembered, encouraged, and cared.
She may not be with us today, but the confidence she gave us and the kindness she showed will remain with me always.Some people teach subjects.

Adeeb Ma’am instilled in me the quiet strength of good behaviour, respect, and moral clarity — values that outlive academic scores.
Her teachings continue to guide me beyond the classroom, shaping not just how I learn, but how I live.

Growing up in Hyderabad of the late eighties and the early nineties, we had a very nonchalant attitude to almost everything. Being casual about everything was just fine with me and my friends. However, we had the great good fortune of having our beloved Madam as our Headmistress. And being a truly great teacher, she was deeply invested in moulding our personalities. She would address us in the morning assembly, reminding us of the importance of hard work and not stopping till we had reached our true potential. And she did this constantly, in different ways, sometimes in her own words, sometimes quoting inspirational lines.
I was hearing her but not truly listening. Till one day, she said something that changed my outlook altogether. Let me share the story. My friends and I had represented the school at an inter-school competition.
It was a very tough field, there were teams from all the top schools in Hyderabad. We managed to get third place overall. We patted each others’ backs, very happy with our showing, and headed back to school to report the result. Madam was happy with our performance, she gave us her heartiest congratulations. And asked us simply, “Why were you third instead of first?”
We immediately responded that we were competing against the best teams in Hyderabad. Then she asked a life changing question,”Did you ever think of how they got to that level?” That gave me a jolt.
I had comfortably internalized the notion that students in so-called top schools were automatically better at everything. Madam, in her inimitable way, pointed out to us that day - that nothing comes without effort, everything needs hard work, and there must be a conscious pursuit of excellence. And she also taught us, over the years, that this pursuit of excellence was not a pursuit restricted to one domain, rather it was a pursuit in each facet of our lives. And that we must constantly strive to be better- better in our manners, better in our character, better in our relationships, better in everything we are and we do.
She would often quote this line from Iqbal and even now I can hear it ringing in my ears:
خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے
خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے
This was her focus. She wanted us to be our best selves, our most excellent selves in whatever we did. And she not only taught us this in words but showed us how. Every single day!

The most beautiful phase of life is childhood—a season woven with wonder, hope, and cherished memories. At the heart of those memories stands a school, quietly shaping our dreams and values. Among the many people who influence our lives, teachers leave the deepest impressions, nurturing not only our minds but also our character.
For every student of Sunrise High School, one name shines with enduring brilliance—Mrs. Adeeb Muneer. Our beloved Headmistress may no longer walk the corridors of the school, but her presence continues to live on in its culture, its classrooms, and in the hearts of generations of students whose lives she transformed.
For me, Adeeb Ma'am was much more than a Headmistress. She was an extraordinary teacher whose lessons extended far beyond textbooks. Whether she taught Hindi, English, Mathematics, or Social Studies, every class became an experience. She introduced us to dictionaries and atlases, encouraging curiosity and independent learning. Geography came alive through her vivid descriptions, and even today, the mention of the Grand Canyon instantly transports me back to those classrooms. Mathematics, under her guidance, was never intimidating—it became a subject of clarity, logic, and imagination.
Discipline was central to her teaching philosophy, yet it was always balanced with care and encouragement. She would personally examine our classwork notebooks, paying attention to handwriting, presentation, and accuracy. I still remember the immense pride I felt when she held up my notebook before the class and said, "This is how you should maintain your work." That single moment of appreciation instilled in me a lasting sense of confidence and responsibility.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Adeeb Ma'am's personality was her presence during the morning assembly. Hundreds of students would stand in complete silence the moment she began to speak. She never needed to raise her voice; her calm authority, dignity, and unwavering confidence commanded attention and respect. Through her example, we learnt that true leadership is not about power—it is about character.
Some of her greatest lessons came through simple conversations. One year, I secured first rank but missed the badge distribution ceremony because of a family function. When I went to collect my badge from her office, she smiled and gently asked why I had been absent. After listening patiently, she said, "If the first ranker herself is irregular, what should I expect from others?" Those words stayed with me for life. They transformed not only my own attitude towards punctuality and discipline but also influenced my entire family. Today, my niece studies at Sunrise High School, carrying forward those very values.
Another cherished memory takes me back to Class V. On Children's Day, our school took us to watch Jurassic Park in a theatre—my very first cinema experience. The following day, Adeeba Ma'am asked us to describe the experience in class. I still remember how enthusiastically she expanded upon my narration, explaining the Dolby sound system, cinematography, and the magic of storytelling. She taught us that every experience, however ordinary it may seem, could become an opportunity to learn and express ourselves.
Among my fondest memories is hearing her announce my full name during the morning assembly while presenting me with the First Rank badge. To a young student, that recognition meant the world. Her encouragement gave me confidence and inspired me to believe that I could achieve something meaningful in life.
One of our favourite school activities was the extempore speech competition, often based on the question, "What is your ambition in life?" As children, we spoke of becoming doctors, engineers, or serving society in different professions. Today, my answer would be different. If given the opportunity, I would aspire to become a teacher like Adeeba Ma'am—not simply to teach subjects, but to inspire young minds, nurture values, and lead with compassion and integrity.
Adeeb Ma'am led Sunrise High School with quiet strength. She never relied on harsh words or authority alone. Her presence reflected discipline, dignity, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to every child's growth. She believed in excellence, but she also believed in kindness, encouragement, and leading by example.
At my farewell, she told me that I had great potential and would do well in life. Those words have remained with me ever since. Coming from a family of educators—my father being a Government School Headmaster—and now serving as a Government Degree Lecturer in Computer Science, I often reflect upon her faith in me. I sincerely hope that, in my own small way, I have lived up to the expectations she placed in her students.
I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to every teacher at Sunrise High School. They nurtured us with affection beyond all barriers of caste, colour, and creed. The knowledge they imparted, the values they instilled, and the memories we created together through celebrations, festivals, competitions, and everyday school life continue to remain among the most treasured moments of my life. Sunrise High School will always be the chapter that shaped who I am today.
Thank you, Adeeb Ma'am, for your guidance, your discipline, your encouragement, and your unwavering belief in your students. Your legacy lives on—not only in the institution you so lovingly nurtured, but in every life you touched. Though you may no longer be with us, your lessons continue to guide us, your values continue to inspire us, and your memory continues to illuminate our paths.
